Distressed Paper: now under glass

For the past couple of months, I have been working on my resourceful skills.

I always been very comfortable using paper over canvas or wood, ( I guess it's the animator in me.)

I am a drawer first of all, secondary you can all me a "painter". I guess, all is nice when paper is cheaper than canvas.
Though, as the sheets of paper are getting smaller, all will soon run out.

My art supplies are changing ( ex. Having to change sumi ink to instant coffee, stale wine and fabric dye). Running to a Dollar Tree, looking for deals of art supplies. Though it may not seem like there is not much effort in making paper out of trash bags and plastic bags. It's very time-consuming, and sometimes it feels like you're trying to make wine out of water.

Though something, I can't cut back on, that's good framing. There is something about the preserved artwork under glass. That idea that "you can't touch". By putting a fragile piece of glass separating you from the artwork. The Glass Reflecting off lights and figures. Then put a dark frame that will then contain the piece in on unmovable space.

Here's a few pieces, just back from framing, for the La Luz de Jesus "Everything But The Kitschen Sync" Group Show in March. Wish I could take a picture without the reflection from the glass.

It's all a bunch of Reindeer games

I'm working on a painting series, working title "It's all a bunch of Reindeer Games". I'm looking to finish the set of painting by next month. I am posting a couple of my first set of sketches on this post.
